History:-

 This holy place is said to have come into existence hundreds years Before Christ. Samadhi of Shri Bhrathari was built by his disciples and devotees. They made this place a permanent memory of the great sage Bhartrihari.

Brief of the Diety:-

  Maharaj Bhartrihari who was a king of Ujjain had renounced his kingdom and become a Nath, disciple of Guru Gorakhnath. He practiced his ascetism here in this wild place full of jungles, wild animals and high Aravali Hills around. A small rivulet of clean water flows by. People worship the entombment of Bhartrihari. Here an incessantly burning lamp is cautiously guarded and it has been hurning for centuries. There is a Dhuni ( a fire place maintained by Nath Sadhus) which also keeps fire ablaze in every season and at every time.

Religious aspects of temple:-

  Bharatrihari in fact was infatuated with his beautiful wife Pingle who, however, was disloyal to him. When her infidelity was revealed to the king, he at once abandoned the queen, the kingdom and the royal palace and became a Nath. He accepted Guru Gorakhnath as his Guru and since then Bharatrihari became a Yogi. It is believed that Bhartrihari is immortal. He has not died and he visits the place now in any form, but no one can recognize him. Today lacs and lacs of people have their strong faith in Bhartrihari. The samadhi Sthal has now been built properly and tens of dharmshalas have also come up. In the month of Bhadrapad, Millions of people go to the samadhi. Throughout the year, in fact, pilgrims keep on visiting the place. This is a holy and natural place.

Festivals & Fairs in Temple (Main Events):-

  While all festivals related to Lord Shiva are observed here, a special mela (fair) is held at this spot once in a year in the month of Bhadrapad.

Custom & Traditions of Temple:-

  The temple belongs to the Nath cult. The customs is that of keeping dhuna fire burning and the Akshaydeep alight. This is virtually a wild and holy place where wandering Mendicants, Sadhus, Sanyasis, Nath, Snake Charmers, Tantrics, Mantrics and other people gifted with spiritual powers keep on visiting.
